"Helping
Hands to meet the needs of those less fortunate with compassion and
dignity."
We have moved!
But we haven't gone away!
Same phone number 814-456-5670
Effective June 23rd 2008 our Project Hope Outreach services will be providing their services in a new and exciting way. The last day the office will be open at 249 East 8th Street where folks can come to us is June 17th 2008. Rather, we will now be out in the community more, meeting folks regularly in shelters and food service locations. We will be on the street more, seeking out the unserved population of homeless folks. We will continue to try to meet as many needs as possible, such as obtaining ID and birth certificates, helping with government service and housing applications, supplying bus tokens, and providing blankets, socks, comfort kits, and personal hygiene items. Office work will be accomplished on a part time basis at the Alliance administrative offices. While this will be a very different way for us to provide our services, we are creatively seeking new ways to minister and be the support and the love that the people living on the streets need.
The staff at outreach would like to thank the support that has been given to this vital part of the ministry. Nicole and her staff are working hard to not only restructure, but continue to meet with clients who are very much in need of our assistance. Your continued support will be a vital part of this process.
If you have questions you can send us a message or give us a call (814) 456-5670.

Project Hope for the Homeless is a
collabrative effort among EUMA, the department of Housing
and Urban Development (HUD), County of Erie Department
of Human Services, the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs ,
and numerous homeless services providers.
The Outreach Office offers a welcoming environment
while maintaining up-to-date information on social services available
to the homeless. They assist clients in obtaining birth certificates an
photo identification cards, which are mandatory for social services,
shelter stays, and the apartment application process. Outreach workers
maintain informational packets containing applications and forms for:

What does Project Hope -
Outreach do?
Outreach client advocates
complete an intake assessment on all identified homeless individuals
and work collaboratively with shelters, mental health agencies,
drug/alcohol rehabilitation programs and other housing programs to
place the persons/families into housing.
The Outreach workers canvas
the streets and locations where people suffering from homelessness
congregate, including local shelters, soup kitchens and the Mental
Health Association. They post flyers describing outreach services and
disseminate pertinent information outlining the array of programs and
services available to assist the homeless in accessing services.
Outreach workers also
distribute comfort kits, which contain personal hygiene items and a
card listing food pantries, soup kitchens and shelter information. The
kits are in a canvas tote bag that has the Project Hope logo and
Outreach phone number on it. During winter months, blankets, donated
hats, gloves, scarves, and mittens are available. Socks and underwear
are available year-round.
