What is Liberty House for Veterans?

Located at 550 W. 7th St. Get Directions.

The Erie United Methodist Alliance through Project Hope has established a partnership with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Department of Veterans Affairs to operate Liberty House for Veterans transitional living program.

Liberty House is a ten bed facility specifically for honorably discharged veterans suffering from homelessness.

Liberty House is a highly structured transitional living program where residents focus on the development of life skills necessary to help them deal with life’s issues in a positive way.

What does Liberty House do?

EUMA’s Liberty House for Veterans Transitional living program provides a safe, stable environment designed to support the physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual development of our residents.

Our primary goal is to help homeless veterans recognize and change habits and decisions that have caused them to become homeless so that they can obtain and maintain permanent housing.

Liberty House enters a drug and alcohol free covenant with its residents in which the administration pledges to take necessary action to maintain a facility where recovering persons may live without negative influences and residents promise to abstain from the use of alcohol or illegal drugs.

The rules and regulations for the program have been established in order to ensure a quality program that facilitates positive change leading to a better quality of life and permanent housing.

How can I get involved?

Preventing homelessness and helping those currently suffering from homelessness is like operating a machine that runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The machine cannot stop even for a moment or someone who needs help may get overlooked during that moment of down time.

Please click on the miracle machine below and help make sure the gears never stop.
